BERLIN — In a unified diplomatic effort, the foreign ministers of Germany, France, and Britain issued a joint statement Wednesday calling on Israel to comply with international law by allowing unimpeded humanitarian aid into Gaza.

"Humanitarian aid must never be used as a political tool and Palestinian territory must not be reduced nor subjected to any demographic change," the ministers declared in their statement.

The European powers expressed concern over Israel's actions since March 2, 2025, when the Israeli government reimposed a complete blockade on aid entering Gaza, including fuel supplies. The three nations characterized this move as a "flagrant violation of international humanitarian law."

This coordinated statement represents the latest diplomatic pressure from key European allies amid growing international concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza. The ministers' joint appeal underscores mounting tensions between Israel and some of its traditional Western allies over its handling of aid access to the Palestinian territory.

Neither Israeli authorities nor Palestinian officials have immediately responded to the European statement.
